Pointers For Pukekohe

This weekend we cross the ditch as the 5-way fight for the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship heads for New Zealand.

Points picked up here could be decisive heading into the finale at the Coates Hire Newcastle 500 later in the month.

So where is it again?

50 kilometres south of Auckland, we're back at Pukekohe which became the first points-paying round of the Championship when it hosted its maiden race in 2001.

It's a fast and flowing circuit - something that wasn't ruined when three new corners were added to the back straight in 2013 after a multi-million dollar upgrade.

The driver who wins the most points here takes home the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy, named in memory of the late Supercars driver.

WHAT TIME?

Friday morning we're up and at it early from 8:00am local time with the drivers hitting the track for practice from 11:15am.

Two more practice sessions will follow that before qualifying and twin 70-lap races on Saturday and Sunday.

To account for the time difference, those two events will start at 4:10pm each day.

WHERE'S IT ON?

Fox Sports 506 will broadcast the races live with highlights on One and Ten.
