Attention collectors!

What you see here is the very first factory Holden, prepared by the legendary Harry Firth.

The 1969-built HT Monaro GTS 350 was Firth's first after coming over from Ford and made its track debut at the Sandown 3 Hour.

Kevin Bartlett and Spencer Martin were hired as the Holden Dealer Team's first drivers.

The car was filthy quick out of the box, qualifying on the front row, but brake failures brought the race to an early end.

Proof of that fateful day is visible to this day in the original fuel tank - which the car retains - patch and all when it was fixed after rupturing in the crash.

The car's debut opened the door for HDT's legendary three-car campaign at the Hardie-Ferodo 500 at Bathurst when Colin Bond and Tony Roberts won the race.

Peter Brock and Des West finished third.

The car is on the block for Lloyds Auctioneers and Valuers and bids close on August 19. Make your bids here.
