The biggest and most technologically advanced cruise ship to ever sail in Australia has docked in Brisbane this morning.

Royal Caribbean's $1 Billion Ovation of the Seas liner make her Queensland debut, pulling into Fisherman Island at the Port of Brisbane.

It's the fourth largest cruise ship in the world and the first brand new cruise to be launched in Australia.

The ship will spend the day here while its almost 4,000 passengers explore the local sights, they're expected to generate more than half a million dollars into the local economy, just today.

While the liner's maiden Australian season is expected to generate $35 million.

New features aboard include a robot bionic bar, indoor skydiving, bumper cars, a viewing capsule which transport guests more than 90 metres in the air for incredible views and 18 different dining options including a Jamie Oliver restaurant.

The vessel will depart Brisbane at 5pm for Darwin as part of a 14-day trip from Sydney to Singapore.
