East Kimberley Police have made 14 arrests after a three-week operation to crackdown on drug transportation in the area.

Officers conducted a number of searches at road borders, seaports, airports, and even Australia Post boxes.

Hank the sniffer dog was enlisted to target vehicles entering the WA border near Kununurra.

During the three-week period, more than 300 suitcases were checked, over 300 cars were stopped, and 42 were searched.

The operation led to six warrants and 14 arrests after cannabis, LSD, and steroids were found. No firearms were detected during the operation.

Police will continue to monitor the border into the Kimberley for the rest of 2021.
