Most first year JCU students spend more time at the Uni Club than they do at the Sir George Kneipp Auditorium.

But one student will be bucking that trend.

Alex Myhill is 15 years old and has just started his classes at JCU.

The teenager has commenced his Bachelor of Science studies at the Townsville campus, years ahead of his school mates.

Alex completed his secondary schooling in 2016 at The Cathedral School of St Anne ahd St James, with an OP1 beside his name.

He's all smiles in his first week of classes after receiving  a Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority Queensland Certificate of Education Distinguished Academic Achievement Award on the weekend.

Well done, Alex!
