Almost thirty roads remain closed across Mackay and The Whitsundays as rain continues to soak the region. Our roads are copping the brunt of floods and damage as record falls have been felt in the past four days. Mackay Eungella Road will remain closed until Transport and Main Roads manage to assess the landslide from earlier this week. All up to date road conditions are available here

The Bureau is predicting the weather will let up a little from today but we remain on flood watch. Clarke Range has recorded over 700mm since Monday and there's still some more to come. Pioneer and Proserpine River are currently flood risks as runoff pours into the banks, but at this stage they remain below minor levels.

Meanwhile, in the Whitsundays, they are celebrating the rain!
