The Memorial Pool, its situated in the city centre and is one of the jewels in the Mackay! it's dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the district and is important to the community. Locals are desperate to save it and use it. Here is the question posed by The Daily Mercury, are you as a ratepayer happy to pay $350,000 a year to operate it? We both support the movement to keep the pool operating. Join the support group here 

A big day for our emergency service workers yesterday... with two serious prangs on our roads. A 72 year old Courier leaving the road at Andergrove, crashing into a tree in the morning. The rescue chopper tasked to the scene but thankfully the man only sustained minor injuries.

 While the afternoon saw paramedics respond to a collision at Eimeo between three cars and a motorbike. One man in his 20's sustaining serious injuries to his foot.

Hope on the horizon for those struggling with drug addiction. The government set to commit funding to address the need for drug and rehab services in Mackay. Dawson MP George Christensen is here today to make the announcement later this morning. 

For those in Mackay they will be meeting at Jubilee Park at Midday.
