5 People Taken To Base Hospital After Crash In Marian

Emergency services crews have been kept busy overnight in Marian. A woman was trapped in a four-wheel drive following a head on crash on Mackay Eungella Road just before 5:30. She was freed from the car, suffering pelvic and leg injuries. Five people were involved in the crash with all being taken to Mackay Base Hospital in stable condition.

New research has found the production of coral babies in the Great Barrier Reef has dropped dramatically. The bleaching event in 2016 to 2017 caused an 89 per cent decline in larvae production. Professor Andrew Baird says it's a historical finding.

Devastating news for the family of injured Mackay man Erran Braddick. The thirty two year old has been in a coma in a private hospital in Kuta with brain, chest, lung, and serious internal injuries after he crashed his motorbike last week. He has since succumbed to his injuries, sadly passing away yesterday. A LifeFlight Jet was sent over to retrieve him this week but will return empty today.
