Woolgoolga will see the Northern Beaches Multi-Purpose Centre come to life under the NSW Liberals and Nationals Government with Nationals’ candidate for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh and NSW Premier, Gladys Berejiklian announcing $8 million towards stage one of the project.
The project will provide Woolgoolga and Northern Beaches with access to a space for office, indoor sport, community events, fundraisers, dance and function space.
Mr Singh said the announcement was a great achievement for the Northern Beaches community.
“As a resident here, I want my family to have access to the best possible recreation facilities so they can lead healthy and enjoyable lives,” he said.
“The new Multi-Purpose Centre will be a real hub for the community, and will afford the Woolgoolga and Northern Beaches a space to get together", Mr Singh said.
Stage one will include two multi-sports courts and meeting space which could be combined to create a larger function space, while stages two and three would expand on those spaces.
“The population of Woolgoolga and the Northern Beaches will grow significantly over the next 20 years, and the community have demonstrated strong support and demand for this facility,” he said.
