91 Year Old Dies After Mayfield Hit Run

An elderly man has died in hospital three days after he was involved in a hit and run at Mayfield.

The 91 year old was crossing Stedman Street near Maitland Road last Friday, when he was struck by an SUV which drove off.

He sadly passed away in John Hunter Hospital yesterday.

The car's believed to be a red Mitsubishi ASX and is likely to have some front end damage.

Police are after help from the public to track down the driver.
