Police have been congratulated for a massive drug bust in Crediton. On Friday Police from across the region executed a search warrant on a rural property. They found that electricity to the property was bypassing the meter and being illegally fed to several sheds. During the raid Police allegedly found cannabis plants, dried cannabis and seeds, amphetamines, and an unregistered gun. A sixty-nine year old man will appear in Mackay Magistrates Court next month.

One young leader from Mackay is among the group of new voices appearing at the first meeting of Queensland's Youth Engagement Panel. Dominic McCarthy’s studying business management and dance teaching, having completed all his ballet exams with the Royal Academy of Dance, most recently Advanced 2 with distinction. He's one of eleven young people who'll be involved in shaping government policies, programs and services in the next year. They'll also be asked to deliver a Queensland Youth Strategy.

Is it a bird, is it a plane, no, it’s a Koala! A massive seven hundred kilo Koala will be driven through Mackay tomorrow to promote the Townsville Cultural Festival. The seven hundred kilogram beast aims at promoting cultural diversity, community cohesion and the sharing of cultures. Doctor Farvardin Daliri says he wants people to start planning their trip north to be part of the action.
