A New Play In Albany

Taking you back to 1807

Spectrum Theatre’s first production this year will be an amateur production of  'Female Transport'.

Set in the harsh time of 1807 on a convict ship the play focuses in on the lives of six women convicts as they are transported to a life of hard labor in Britain’s overseas penal colony (Australia).

While Female Transport is classified as a drama, there are plenty of lighter moments and earthy humour as the six women try to get the better of their captors, producing some beautifully sharp and dark one-liners.

Tickets are 25 dollars each, which can be bought down at Paperbark Merchants on York Street.

WARNING some depictions in the production may cause stress including themes of suicide.

For more information on suicide prevention please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.
