It’s official! The Margaret River Dairy Company now holds the new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title
for the Largest cheese tasting event at a single location.

250 people were needed to establish a world record, that number would end up being crushed when the final count revealed 560 eager dairy lovers had braved the Sunday morning to partake in the cheese tasting

The three cheeses up for tasting included Farmhouse cheese, followed by Original Cheddar and finally the Original Brie.

“The population of Metricup is around 200 – made up mainly of dairy farms and wineries, so to have 560 people join us today was quite an achievement!" Thiago Bacellar the Head Cheesemaker and Production Manager said.

The process involved a lot of team work to make sure that the record was measured perfectly and many volunteers helped assist to make it all happen.

“It was great to be back in WA and the Margaret River region and I love mass participation events,” - said Brian Sobel the  Guinness World Record adjudicator.

No one knows how long the record will stand before someone tries to break it, but at this point Metricup are the proud holders of the title. Well done to everyone who participated
