As released by the Victorian Department of Health, 22,429 new COVID infections were reported as testing sites see increased demand and pressure.

The case distribution, 12,059 positive results from PCR testing and 10,370 via rapid antigen tests.

In the race to three jabs, Victoria is up to 24% of eligible adults who have ticked off their booster shot.

Over 93% of Victorians aged 12 and over have now received two doses of the vaccine against COVID-19.

Premier Daniel Andrews says a "significant" batch of RATs arrived on Sunday, following the mass order of 44 million at-home testing kits .

The kits will be distributed across essential work services, including health and aged-care.

“Three million is a very important start, we are working very hard to make sure that each and every one of the orders that make up the 44 million are honoured,” Andrews said on Sunday.

“That will be three million tests that don’t need to be sourced elsewhere, so that alleviates some pressure.”
