A radical proposal to move the entirity of the the NRL off the coast of Brisbane has been floated and it’s not entirely ridiculous.

It was only weeks ago that we were hearing the prospect of moving the league to the small town of Calliope, west of Gladstone in Central Queensland.

However, a new plan was put forward by Brisbane Broncos Hall of Fame legend Chris Johns this evening on The Rush Hour with Dobbo.

Johns, who played 227 games for St. George and Broncos as well as 10 Origins for NSW told Dobbo that moving the players, staff and media to Tangaloom resort on Moreton Island was not unreasonable.

Queensland closing it’s borders was the final nail in the coffin for the NRL when it made the decision to suspended the 2020 season with many saying the opportunity to move the game to Central Queensland was missed.

The NRL season is currently suspended until further notice with the situation to be re-addressed at the end of April.
