An English beer festival has had to be cancelled on Day 1 after the licence forgot to purchase a liquor licence.

The Friends & Family Beer Festival in Manchester had sold over 1,500 tickets to beer loving patrons, but after Day 1 of the festivities, the event had to be cancelled due to venue not having a licence to sell liquor.

Oops.

The beer festival, organised by Manchester brewery Cloudwater, was due to take place on Friday and Saturday at the Upper Campfield Market, off Liverpool Road, but organisers say the event has been scrapped halfway through - after police told them they risked breaking the law.
