An inner Sydney restaurant has come under fire for posting a picture of a 'deconstructed ANZAC biscuit.'

The image, which definitely does not resemble an ANZAC biscuit, was posted early on ANZAC Day Eve.

Understandably, people were not happy.

The post has since been deleted.

It comes a day after the Department of Veteran Affairs announced they'd be fining small businesses $51,000 for messing with the ANZAC bikkie recipe.

Individual sellers who mess with the recipe face fines of $10,000.

ANZAC biscuits are made with coconut, rolled oats and golden syrup.

“Definitely no addition of new ingredients that alter the traditional biscuit and its taste such as egg, chocolate chips or almonds,” a Veterans’ Affairs spokesperson said.
