A 12-year-old Mooroobool girl was charged yesterday as a result of continued investigations into an alleged assault incident outside an Esplanade restaurant on March 27.
A group of women aged in their early 20’s had been socialising and had walked to a nearby restaurant just after midnight when they were approached by a group of youths.
It will be further alleged that some of the youths then began assaulting the women and attempting to steal their property.
Detectives spoke with the girl at a White Rock address yesterday afternoon. She was charged with two counts of common assault as well as one count of stealing and attempted entry to premises with intent.
Three other 12-year-old girls have already been charged in relation to the same incident and investigations are now complete.
