Along pristine white beaches, crystal clear waters and spectacular views of mountain terrain, Hamilton Island is often known as THE place to unwind, but also, a place to push yourself with health and fitness.
Each year, the Hamilton Island Endurance series challenges just that.
Spanning across four endurance events from May through to November testing athletes on every level through The Hamilton Half Marathon, Great Whitehaven Beach Run, Hamilton Island Triathlon and Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim.

Stamford Financial Hamilton Island Hilly Marathon | Sunday 6 May 2018
Take on 42kms of Hamilton Island’s uniquely challenging terrain in what is one of the most epic endurance events in Australia. If a half marathon is more your style, you can take part in the 21km race, and the event also includes a 3 x 7km relay plus kids fun run.
Great Whitehaven Beach Run | Sunday 24 June 2018
Take to the pristine sands of famous Whitehaven Beach for an event the whole family can enjoy. The Great Whitehaven Beach Run has races for everyone, including kids. Serious runners can compete in a half marathon, or tackle a 10km or 5km run
Hamilton Island Triathlon | Saturday 17 November 2018
The beauty of the Whitsundays will keep you going when your body’s ready to give up during the Fujifilm Hamilton Island Triathlon. A 750m swim in Catseye Bay is followed by a 20km cycle, and a 5km run through the island’s Marina Village.
Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim | Sunday 18 November 2018
The crystal-clear waters of Whitehaven Beach will really test your endurance. Dive head-first into the gruelling 2km swim, or try the 750m event if you only want to dip your toes in the water. There’s also a 350m race for the under 13’s.
