Stars have battled the poor weather to attend the Arias overnight, Mount Gambier's Scott Maxwell taking home a gong.
The local Grant High School teacher has been named the 2018 ARIA Music Teacher of the Year.
Aussie superstar Guy Sebastian made his way to the region to announce Maxwell was a nominee earlier this year - the local selected from hundreds of submissions.
"Maxi" has transformed the music program at Grant High School, with now double the amount of programs offered and triple the amount of students enrolled.
It was a big night for local talent, Mount Gambier born country music superstar Kasey Chambers taking home the Golden Aria.
She has officially been inducted into Aria Hall of Fame.
