Police are continuing to appeal for public assistance following the armed hold up of a convenience store at Berkeley Vale last Saturday.

About 6.55pm on Saturday 25th March 2017, a man armed with a machete entered the store.

He approached the counter and demanded cash from the till and the employee.

The employee complied and the man demanded more money. The employee told police he was then assaulted.

The man ran from the store and was last seen heading across Lakedge Avenue in a south easterly direction.

The employee received treatment for an injury to his hand.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command were notified of the incident and established a crime scene.

Investigators would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 20 to 30 years of age, with a slim build, and between 190 and 200cms tall.

The man was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper, dark long pants, red Nike joggers and had his face covered.
