Big Skies is a nine-day calendar event celebrating the sights, sounds, tastes and unique experiences of the Western Downs.

The event is now in its second year and the Western Downs Regional Council has again collaborated with Arrow Energy for the event.

Mayor Paul McVeigh said having Arrow Energy as a Festival Partner again this year would help Council welcome the thousands of visitors to the region.

“We are so excited to have Arrow Energy on board as a Festival Partner for Big Skies and we know they’ll help us show all our visitors why we’re so proud to live here,” he said.

“The Western Downs region is the energy capital of Queensland and quickly becoming the energy capital of Australia, and what better way to celebrate that than this partnership with Arrow.

“Big Skies 2019 is going to be spectacular — from the fun of the Dalby Picnic Races to the best Aussie rock west of the Great Divide at Day on the Plain, plus all our other great events in between.”

Arrow Energy Vice President External Relations and Tenure Management Leisa Elder said her company was pleased to support Council and community groups to showcase the Western Downs.

“The Day on the Plain was especially popular last year and, from the line-up, I’d expect the same again this year,” she said.

“I am very pleased that Arrow is Festival Partner to this great family event in 2019.”

Big Skies will run from Saturday 27 April to Sunday 5 May 2019.
