Townsville City Council have created a mascot for the Northern Fringe Festival but it is nameless...

THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN!

The Northern Fringe is an organic festival that will feature live acts, music, comedy, cabaret and will be hosted in theatres, cafes, pop-up venues, laneways and street corners across the city.

So a “Name Our Mascot” competition has kicked off and entrants will go in the running to win a Festival Prize Pack!

Community and Cultural Development Committee Chair Cr Colleen Doyle said the competition is a great way to include locals in the festival process.

“The pineapple inspired character is juggling sugar shakers and the city skyline is reflecting in its sunglasses.

“If you look closely, you might even see a tattoo of Castle Hill’s iconic Saint on its right claw.

“It is fitting that our locals have the chance to name what we hope will become an iconic image that will be seen in venues and at events across the entire city.”

The suggestions have come in thick and fast with these being our favourites so far:
KARL
PINEAPPLE MCPINEAPPLE FACE
PINE-A-PUSS
PINOSAURUS
JUICEY
