Aus Post calls five-day pause on all deliveries sent from Melbourne

The service has said they are experiencing large volumes of shipments, seen only around the Christmas period.

Adding to that pressure, Australia Post in Melbourne has up to 200 staff isolating due to Covid scares, and the company has said their priority is the health of their staff.

A spokesperson for the business has confirmed the halt will only be for five days starting at 12.01 am on Friday, October 1, and finish at 12.01 am Wednesday, October 6.

This pause will not affect Express Post, Startrack Premium or Express parcels, or anything posted outside of greater Melbourne.

Earlier this month, the postal service halted the delivery of parcels across the country after struggling to keep up with demand.
