There may be controversy over the date of Australia Day, but regardless there is a plethora of activities for you to choose from this Saturday January 26 to celebrate what it means to be Aussie.

Whether you're doing the family thing playing cricket in the park with the kiddies or putting on a singlet and pluggas and having a froth or two, we have the event for you!

The Australia Day Swim Thru

Starting at 730am, this 2.5 km swim is not for the fainthearted! The event is open to all competent swimmers above the age of 14, who will be able to finish the event in less than 1 hour and 15 minutes. Spectators can watch from James Street Groyne as the swimmers traverse the bay!

Australia Day Family Fun Event

9am until 2pm at Adventureland Park will feature a bunch of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy!

Displays, markets and food stalls will all be there as well as the Shire will be presenting the Community Citizen of the Year Awards.  If you've never been to the moving ceremony where our active Citizens are celebrated, you won't want to miss this.

Live entertainment will feature from local musicians including Mary Leske, Kyron Smithson, Laurie Petrie, Campbell Garratt and the Esperance Brass Band.

This year there will be food and market stalls, displays, seniors scooter race,and children's activities including novelty races, bouncy castle, merry go round, face painting and free ice creams.

A new attraction will be a tug of war with a $1,000 prize pool.

Australia Day at the Esperance Turf Club

Another day of racing at the Turf Club for Australia Day, a full card, high quality meet for you and the family to enjoy!

Bus travels through town an hour before the first race and will take you back into town so you can enjoy a drink responsibly. Buses will also be running to the Esperance Speedway after the event to continue the festivities.

Dress up and enjoy yourself this Australia Day at the Turf Club. Gamble responsibly. 

Australia Day Speedway Event

The biggest show on clay is coming to the Esperance Speedway this Australia Day Long Weekend for the South Coast Foodservice & Total Asphalt 360 Sprintcars!

Enjoy an awesome display of Sprintcar action in the ultimate adrenaline-fueled event of speedway racing. This is the highlight of the Esperance Speedway calendar. 


You don't want to miss this! Bring the whole family out and make sure you're at the McD Contracting Esperance Speedway this Australia Day Long Weekend! Adults $20 and kids under 12 are FREE!
