The majority of our Aussie athletes have arrived in Japan! 340 Aussie team athletes, staff and officials have now arrived in Tokyo ahead of the Olympics.

Almost 220 of them touched down overnight from Brisbane and Cairns.

Another large athlete arrival will occur tomorrow, with stars from Rugby, men’s Water Polo, Athletics, Tennis, Triathlon, Shooting, Boxing and Diving entering the country.

Swimming champion Bronte Campbell spoke about having her older sister and team flagbearer with her on 9.

"Amazing to be here, amazing to be here with Kate again. It's nice having family here because we're all away from our family for so long, so it's been great," she said.

Meantime, organisers have confirmed a person's tested positive for COVID inside the Olympic village. They have been played in 14-day quarantine.
