According to a recent study, 88% of Australian hospitality workers are suffering from increased stress and anxiety due to COVID19.

Australian Chef Liam Crawley, founder of the non-for-profit Hospo For Life has seen major sparks in mental health issues among his colleagues in the hospitality industry.

Liam said across the industry there has been a lot of employees laid off, and people losing their jobs overnight. No one has had time to prepare for it which has caused a lot of mental health issues.

He wants all hospitality workers to know that there is help out there.

"We do 24-hour, 7 days a week psychological appointments...for free... so people can get the support they need," Liam said.

He also spoke about where the food industry will be headed for the remainder of 2020.

"It's going to take a good 12 months for people to really recover in the industry... as restrictions are easing around Australia, it helps some but it doesn't help the others," Liam said.
