Australian Teenager In Critical Condition After Rhino Attack In Nepal

DFAT has confirmed they are providing assistance to an Australian man who was hospitalised after he was attacked by a rhino in Nepal.
While the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade would not comment on the man’s injuries due to privacy obligations – Nepalese newspaper Xinhua reports the 18-year-old was walking in the Chitwan National Park on Monday when he was charged at by the rhino.
Both the Australian and his guide were injured in the attack.
The pair were rescued by local authorities and were airlifted to the capital city for treatment. He is reportedly in a critical condition.
Chitwan district is a popular national park, south of Kathmandu, which is popular for elephant adventures and safaris.
