A green P-Plater from Blackwall has learned the hard way the value of accepting speeding tickets gracefully, after he scrunched one up and threw it back in the face of a police officer yesterday.

The 20 year old man was pulled over at 5:10am, after Highway Patrol officers caught him driving erratically and doing 150 on the M1 at Mount White.

Officers say he tried to justify his speed by saying he was late for work, but they seized his licence and number plates and suspended him from driving for six months after he refused to accept the ticket.
