A rock fan is a $639 poorer after copping a speeding fine in Canada this week.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police clocked the driver on the wild side of the speedo doing 145 kilometres per hour, when asked why he was speeding, the driver responded: "Because Kickstart My Heart by Mötley Crüe was on the radio".

The cops knew he was telling the truth because they were also rocking out to The Crüe - just at a much slower and safer rate.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police shared the story on their official facebook page.
