A passenger has filmed the moment a man had his "nose bitten off" during a brawl on-board a Ryanair flight from Scotland.

Ben Wardrop, who was also on the 6.10am flight to Tenerife on Saturday, was sitting several seats back from the fight, which is alleged to have broken out due to "drunk and disorderly" behaviour.

His clip, in which you can hear a number of passengers shouting "Stop it" and "get off" and see one man with his face covered in blood, has since gone viral, with Wardrop revealing that the whole thing was sparked by a comment about shoes.

"It all started over a woman not wearing her shoes on the flight going to the toilet, and a very drunk man pulled her up about it, saying that someone would stand on her toes, then the woman's boyfriend stepped in and tried to defuse the situation," Wardrop said.

"Once the plane landed and more alcohol was consumed, the man and the woman's boyfriend started arguing," he continued, before adding that the man who is alleged to have had his nose bitten off stepped into defuse the situation.

A Ryanair spokesperson confirmed that the flight had been met by police when it landed in Tenerife when "two passengers became disruptive in-flight".

"The aircraft landed normally and police removed and detained two individuals," they continued. "We will not tolerate unruly or disruptive behaviour at any time and the safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority."
