A huge shipment of methamphetamine has been seized by border patrol officers following a joint operation.

An importation of a shipment of noodles and Asian spices from California was the subject of focus, with the substance returning a positive result for methamphetamine within the shipment.

There will be further testing done after the joint AFP, Border Force, NSW Police, NSW Crime Commission and Department of Home Affairs investigation.

The total weight is believed to be at the 300kg mark, with 1kg having a street value of roughly $100,000.

As a result of investigations, a 53-year-old man from Bonnyrigg was arrested at home while meeting with a 42-year-old Canley Vale man.

Both men have been charged with importing a commercial quantity of border controlled drugs and attempting to possess a commercial quantity of border controlled drugs.

They will face Sydney Central Local Court today, with the maximum penalty being life imprisonment.
