Boomers Coach Brian Goorjian Provides An Update On The Availability Of Ben Simmons & Joe Ingles For Tokyo Olympics

Boomers coach Brian Goorjian says both Ben Simmons and Joe Ingles "will come" to Tokyo for the Olympics, even if they go all the way in the NBA playoffs.

Goorjian joined Triple M's Rush Hour with JB & Billy on Thursday as head coach of the Illawarra Hawks, ahead of what was a massive win over the Perth Wildcats in last night's semifinals.

But as head coach of the Boomers, a few pressing questions came Goorjian's way about the Tokyo Olympics - including whether either of Ben Simmons or Joe Ingles would be able to make it.

But Simmons and Ingles are involved in the NBA playoffs, with a potential Game 7 of the NBA finals scheduled one day before the opening ceremony of the Olympics, but Goorjian expects both to make their way to Tokyo.

"We feel good about it," he explained.

"Joe and Ben, it looks like they're gonna carry this thing deep. Utah looks really good right now as does Philadelphia.

"But I know that those guys - even if it's late - will come. We want them to do well, we want them to be champions."
