Boy, 12 Arrested After Crashing Stolen Car

Four boys have crashed a stolen car head-on with a police car at Mayfield.

Police spotted the stolen Toyota Camry on Turton Road at around 2:30am Saturday and followed the vehicle into Upfold Street.

It’s claimed the Camry then collided with a second police vehicle.

Four youths got out of the car and ran away.

Two of the boys were arrested, aged 15 and 12.

It appears the 12 year old may have been driving the car.

The other two youths, who were seated in the back, remain on the run.

A Senior Constable suffered a head injury and was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.

Two other officers suffered minor whiplash injuries.
