A 14-year-old boy wanted by police has jumped out of a second-storey window at Mayfield in a bid to avoid capture.

Police went to a home in Bull Street on Thursday morning, however the boy fled after officers knocked on the door.

He was later arrested while trying to climb over a nearby fence.

The boy is accused of breaking into several homes and cars around Wallsend and Jesmond over the past 12 months.

He was previously arrested on July 8, but is now facing an additional 11 charges following further investigations and forensic evidence linking him to several offences.
