The Herald Sun reports a man has been arrested ofter the murder of Aiia Maasarwe.
Police have confirmed Homicide detectives arrested the man in Greensborough at 11.20am this morning, two days after the 21-year-old was brutally murdered in Bundoora.
Aiia, a 21-year-old Arab - Israeli student was the target of what police say was a "horrific" assault shortly after leaving the 86 tram late on Tuesday night. She was found dead Main Drive and Plenty Road the next morning.
Police thanked the public for their assistance with the investigation.
