In breaking news, police are currently responding to a siege situation unfolding in Perth's southeast.

It is understood that a couple are making threats at the residence in Martin.

Police negotiators are currently trying to liaise with the couple.

The property on Douglas Street has been surrounded, after the incident was called in at roughly 9am local time.
