Cam Mooney says he actually felt a bit sorry for Melbourne’s players the day that Geelong spanked them by 186 points at Kardinia Park in 2011.

Mooney joined Dead Set Legends with Jay Clark and Leigh Montagna to reminisce about the massive win ahead of tonight’s match between the two teams at the same venue, which Moons called his “last good game”.

Mooney said he felt bad for the Dees players, specifically reciting a story about James Frawley.

“I remember Chip (James) Frawley was playing at full back, I played a bit of time on him,” Mooney said.

“He probably would have had 10 goals kicked on him, and you could just see the look in his eye.

“A couple of times I just put the arm around him and said ‘mate don’t worry, there’s not much you can do today’.”

Moons also said the game felt like a training drill at times, and that his body shut down on him after half time.
