Police have released CCTV footage images as they continue to investigate a fire in Wollongong last year.

Just after 4am on Tuesday July 18 2016, emergency services were notified of a fire at a business on Kenny Street, Wollongong.

Wollongong Local Area Command officers attended to find the premises well alight.

While firefighters extinguished the blaze, there was significant damage as a result of the fire - which police are treating as suspicious.

Five people were inside the premises at the time of the blaze but did not require any medical treatment.

Police have been told a man was seen fleeing the scene south on Kenny Street.

Following investigations, police would like to speak to a man that may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man pictured in the CCTV image is wearing light-coloured pants, a black hooded jumper and white sneakers.
