You’re invited to get active in the Make Healthy Normal Zone at this year’s Narrandera Show.

The Make Healthy Normal Zone will offer an array of simple yet fun and exciting ways to discover vibrant, healthy lifestyle options. And the best bit? The Zone is free to enter.

Packed with things to do, experts will also be on hand to offer great advice on easy ways to stay active and eat healthy.
The zone will also be abuzz with outdoor activities, food advice and giveaways. Test your totem tennis, soccer and hula-hooping skills against family and friends for the chance to win prizes.

Murrumbidgee Local Health District Chief Executive Jill Ludford said the Make Healthy Normal Zone aimed to encourage kids and adults to get active in fun and easy ways, with guidance on how to choose healthy food along the way.

“We’re here to prove that the Show is just as great a time as any to make healthy normal,” Ms Ludford said.

“With more than half of the adults in NSW being overweight or obese, we are living in an environment where not eating enough fruit and veggies, too many sugary drinks or not being very active, is having a massive impact on our collective health and quality of life.”

Ms Ludford said Make Healthy Normal was about raising awareness by challenging our current perception of what’s normal and offering solution-focused steps on how to make small changes which can make a big difference to our overall health.

“Little by little, one step goes far. Gradually increasing the number of healthy choices we make each day can lead to significantly better health outcomes,” Ms Ludford said.
