Every second year in February the town hosts the world’s biggest melon festival with 3 days of watermelon fun including skiing (slip’n’slide), melon dash for cash, melon iron man, chariot racing and so much more!
The home of the big melon triples in population over this sweet event.
Did you know that Watermelon isn’t even a fruit – That’s right. Watermelon is a vegetable. It is related to cucumbers, pumpkins and squash - who knew!
