Coffs Coast urged to dig deep for RSL Defence Care
$1.5m needed to help struggling veterans
More help will be delivered to current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members, as Defence Care raises funds through its annual ANZAC Appeal.
Members of the Coffs Coast community are being encouraged to show their support, buying a pin from volunteers, or donating at online ahead of tomorrow's commemorations.
All monies raised help support programs affecting veterans including mental health concerns, suicide and homelessness.
Meantime, a funding boost for the Bellinger River RSL as the club's secured $500 from the state government to help it mark 100 years since the Battle of Bersheba.
It'll also be used to commemorate the life and service of Bellingen-bred Sergeant Matthew Locke, a decade on from his tragic death on the job in Afghanistan.
If you need help, call the Defence Family Help Line on 1800 624 608.
