Comedian Russell Peters Took Down A Wannabe Jewel Thief With A UFC-Standard Armbar

Turns out world famous comedian Russell Peters just doesn't jokes, he also cracks attempted robberies.

While funny man Russell Peters was walking around New York City's Diamond District store on Tuesday, a "man in a dark stocking cap" grabbed a ring valued at $150,000USD and attempted to flee the store - until Peter's stepped in.

Entertainment website TMZ reports the wannabe their was initially blocked by a member of the jewellery store's staff in the doorway before Peters tackled the thief and put him in an armbar that would make any UFC fighter clap with appreciation.

It turns out that Peters has been trained in jiu-jitsu for several years under famous black belt Jean Jacques Machado, who also trains Joe Rogan.

The thief if probably lucky he was only slapped with armbar!
