The company carrying out the Pacific Highway and Wyong Road intersection upgrade project has been busted unlawfully storing stockpiles of waste.

The EPA finding Seymour Whyte Constructions, which was engaged by Roads & Maritime Services, didn't hold an environmental protection licence or development consent from Central Coast Council to store 1000 cubic metres or more at it's Tuggerah premises.

An inspection in June uncovered over double that amount.

In addition, there were no sediment or erosions controls in place.

The Authority has fined SWC Pty Ltd $15,000.
