Country Superstar Lee Kernaghan Releases Title Track from New Album, “Backroad Nation”

One week out from the release of his highly-anticipated new album, Backroad Nation, Lee Kernaghan has released the title track along with the new video. The epic new album will be available on May 10th through ABC Music. The album was produced by Grammy nominated producer and song-writer Lindsay Rimes (Kane Brown, Kylie Minogue, LoCash).
As Lee describes this release, “Backroad Nation is about feeling that good vibration when you get off the beaten track and the country wraps itself around you. My absolute passion in life is to sing about us, our country, our way of life and that’s what the new album is all about.”
“Much of the inspiration for the songs has come from the people I've met and the places I've travelled to from Alice Springs to the Deni Ute Muster, from the mighty Pilbara region in WA to backroads QLD and everywhere in between”.
Lee continues, "This album has taken me to places I haven’t been before musically. I've pushed every element of this record to the absolute limits and have collaborated with some of the finest writers and music makers in the world today. This included ARIA Hall of Famer Garth Porter (Executive Producer); along with hit songwriters Colin Buchanan, Lindsay Rimes, Phil Barton and Nick Wolfe who all played an integral part in the song writing journey for this release. I love this album. Every song is a true story and telling it how it is and keeping it authentic was always my number one intention."
The video for the second single, Backroad Nation, was filmed at a sheep station out the back of Louth in western NSW and features one-to-watch up and coming country artist, Ell Regan. Lee says, “It was an epic location, bone dry though because they hadn’t seen any decent rain since 2016. The good news is that a couple of days after we finished the shoot, it bucketed down, the dams filled up and the river flowed”.
Coinciding with the release of his new album, Lee has also announced The Backroad Nation Tour will kick off on May 11 and see him playing 48 concert events, Australia-wide, throughout 2019. Multi Golden Guitar winners, The Wolfe Brothers, are set to join Lee for the national tour along with CMC's Female Artist of the Year and Golden Guitar Winner Christie Lamb.
