The Premier Gladys Berejiklian was frank when pressed on when Sydney could see an end to the lockdown.
“This is the truth. We won’t know what July 31 looks like across the state until at least the weekend and early next week. That is the facts,” she said.
Meanwhile, calls to lift the bans on construction are running high as the industry won’t see any changes until at least July 31 st.
The Premier defended the position today after copping a fair amount of criticism over the move.
“The health advice we rely on gives us advice not only on stopping the spread but also indicating that if you continue particular actions or activity that’s going to spread it further,” she said.
“A lot of communities a lot of businesses a lot of individuals have been impacted for at least a year and a half and we appreciate that but all of us have a role to play. The signs and the facts are there," Berejiklian added.
