One of the top point scorers for the Cowboys has been handed an extended stay in Canberra.
Last round the team made the trip to our nation's capital to face the Raiders, but Justin O'Neill is yet to return to Townsville.
The 28-year-old remains in Canberra Hospital due to a sever spleen injury, with medical staff indicating that he'll be there for a few days longer.
Today the Cowboys have released a statement on how the father of two is progressing.
"O’Neill was moved from the ICU to the Acute Surgical Ward yesterday afternoon and is continuing to recuperate. After consultation with doctors this morning, the 28-year-old is expected to remain in Canberra until at least next Thursday."
