Big news for Rockhampton Leagues Club CQ Capras, who have just appointed David Faiumu as the new 2019 Intrust Super Cup head coach.

Faiumu brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, having played for the CQ Capras in 2003 and North QLD Cowboys for 5 years.

His prior position to the appointment was as assistant to departing coach, Kim Williams, who is taking up a job offer in Wales.

More of Faiumu's achievements to date include:

  • Played for the Huddersfield Giants (7 years) in the English Super league. Total of 238 NRL & Super League games.
  • Played 13 international rugby league games for New Zealand, Samoa & European Exiles
  • Coaching roles with the Huddersfield Giants, Junior Kiwis, CQ Capras
  • Has played under coaches such as Graham Murray, Neil Henry, Nathan Brown, Wayne Bennett
  • Game Development Officer (Huddersfield), GM of Rugby League (Wellington RL), QRL Central Division Well Being Officer.

Faiumu is extremely honoured and proud to be given the opportunity and is committed to the Central QLD Capras strategic plan.
