Gear up Adelaide, you're about to receive a real motorsport treat.

Supercars legend Craig Lowndes will be steering a famous Formula 1 car around the Victoria Park circuit as part of the Adelaide Motorsport Festival this December.

Lowndesy will be behind the wheel of a Benetton B186 - one of the most powerful F1 cars ever built.

The 1986-built, BMW-powered supercar is a throwback to a golden-era of motorsport, and is an absolute must see.

The Supercars legend will also jump behind the wheel of a rare Ferrari FXX tin-top in a street parade and a Ferrari Spettacolo session through the celebration of motorsport in Adelaide.

Details for the event, which runs from December 7-10, can be found here.
