Craig ‘Moppa’ Bennett is set to play his 335th and record breaking game for the Claremont Football Club on Saturday 23rd June 2018 when Claremont travel to Lindisfarne for our round 12 away clash at ANZAC Park in the Southern Football League.

‘Moppa’ is a great local story, having played all his junior football with the Claremont Junior Football Club before commencing his senior career with the Claremont Football Club in 1998. His club games include 187 Senior games, 106 Reserves games and 42 Underage games.

Along the way "Moppa" has amassed an impressive set of achievements and honours including a Seniors Grand Final, 2 Reserves Premierships (2015 and 2016) as well as a Reserves Grand Final.

In addition to his impressive contribution, Craig also got to play alongside his brothers Ashley, Shane & Shaun in a great community family story.

The current record has stood for 28 years, held by Richard Blackwell for most games for Claremont Football Club with 334 across all grades, with another impressive record. Blackwell played in
8 Senior Premierships, 3 Reserve Premierships, Represented Tasmania against Victoria - 1981, was Claremont Reserves Best and Fairest - 1974, 1987, 1989 as well as Association Reserves Best and Fairest - 1987, 1988, 1989.
